Where everything started
Dour festival organised in 2019 a hackathon with entrepreneurs to think about green & digitale solutions to improve the environmental impact of festivals. PuriFungi won the european hackathon prize DEMO - Interreg France - Wallonie - Vlaanderen with the idea of ashtrays made of cigarette butts treated with mushrooms and raising environmental awareness.
CABARET VERT
Where we launch our first test
The Cabaret Vert Festival has supported us since the beginning. We produced the first ever 70 myco-ashtrays made of cigarette butts for the 2019 festival edition. We are present again at the Cabaret Vert 2021 with a full “Zero Butts Action” including myco-ashtrays, pocket ashtrays, butts containers, collecting kits and a sensibilisation stand.

Where we finally re-started after covid lockdown
PuriFungi is happy to restart in June 2021 the partnership with festivals with new eco-products: we now offer butts containers in vitrified ceramic (upcycled material certified Cradle to Cradle) and pocket ashtrays in bamboo from our partner Biataki. During the festival Francofolies Esch / Alzette, we released a full “Zero Butt Action” with 30 myco-ashtrays, 6 butts containers, 3 collecting kits and 2000 pocket ashtrays.
